UDOT and Layton City to Open New Midtown Crossing bridge over I-15
State and local leaders to celebrate grand opening; New bridge to improve east-west traffic flow in Layton
Grand opening celebration for the new Midtown Crossing bridge over I-15, a new east-west connection in the heart of Layton. The bridge extends 1300 N/1425 North to connect Main Street and Hill Field Road.
Midtown Crossing is one of a series of recently completed construction projects designed to address Layton’s specific traffic needs (including new ThrU-Turn intersections and a new interchange at Hill Field Road). The bridge is almost as long as a football field at 293 feet long; 53 feet wide, including a new 6-foot sidewalk; and has nearly 17 feet of clearance over I-15.
UDOT Executive Director Carlos Braceras, will be joined by several legislators and local leaders to open the bridge. A group of classic cars, a vintage UTA bus, and police and fire vehicles from Layton will cross the bridge to officially open it to traffic.
