Media Briefing: UDOT, UHP and Local Contractors Partner to Encourage Safer Driving in Work Zones
Agencies and contractors showcase safety practices and offer reminders to drivers as part of National Work Zone Awareness Week
With construction season under way, the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), Utah Highway Patrol (UHP) and Associated General Contractors of Utah (AGC) are reminding drivers to be safe and put away distractions, especially in work zones.
Last year, there were 2,400 crashes in work zones in Utah. UDOT, the UHP and the AGC are asking drivers to do their part to help construction workers get home safely to their families every night.
At the event, the media can watch the daily contractor safety briefing and tour a live construction site, in addition to interviews with representatives from UDOT, UHP and the AGC.
