UDOT and DPS to release preliminary 2017 traffic fatality numbers
New safety campaign launched to cut down on distracted driving
WHAT: On Wednesday, the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) and the Department of Public Safety (DPS) will release preliminary traffic fatality numbers for 2017 and kick off a new safety campaign aimed at reducing distracted driving. UDOT and DPS leaders will be available at 9:30 a.m. for one-on-one interviews.
Prior to the media availability, the preliminary 2017 fatalities report will be emailed to media around 8 a.m. Wednesday to allow time for review.
