NEWS RELEASE: I-15 to Close for Two Nights in Box Elder County

For Immediate Release

I-15 to Close for Two Nights in Box Elder County

Interstate closure will allow crews to demolish bridge over I-15 in Honeyville

SALT LAKE CITY (Nov. 13, 2017) – The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) advises northern Utah drivers to plan ahead for two overnight closures on I-15 in Box Elder County this week. I-15 will close in both directions at Exit 372 in Honeyville on Tuesday, Nov. 14, and Wednesday, Nov. 15, from 7 p.m. to 8 a.m. each night for bridge demolition.

While the bridge over I-15 is being demolished, UDOT will divert all I-15 traffic onto the off- and on-ramps at exit 372 in Honeyville. Drivers will still be able to continue on I-15, but will need to plan for moderate delays and allow extra time to travel through the detour. Motorists with time-sensitive travel should consider using alternate routes, such as parallel SR-13, at either Elwood or Corinne, or via SR-38, at either Collinston or Brigham City. Intermittent lane closures on I-15 may take place through the remainder of the week.

In addition to the overnight I-15 closures, the S.R. 240 bridge over I-15 at exit 372 (the Honeyville interchange) is now closed until April 2018. During this closure, the interstate ramps will remain open and vehicles wishing to cross east-west over I-15 will be detoured to the interchanges to the north (Exit 376, Tremonton/Garland) and south (Exit 365, 900 North). Crews will demolish the existing bridge and construct a new bridge over the interstate.
